![]() From the Berskhire A-Z, click to enlarge it. (389 KB) [Click for even bigger map - 1800 x 1835 (645 KB)] A new venue for most, for the 2005/2006 season. Brakenhale, the club we were playing against, had been there just five weeks. Where is it?
A mile or two north east of the centre of Bracknell. From Earley it might be easier to head through Bracknell on the A329 and then head north on the B3017 (Priory Road, eventually becoming Winkfield Row), unless you know a speedy short cut. Lambrook School is then off on the left, once you cross Forest Road (B3034). The BDBA 2005/2006 official list of Badminton Match Venues states that:
Yes, I can now confirm, park in the first gravelled area you get to, in front of the large old building. You can then walk through to the large oblong of a building that is the sports hall. This is to the left of the old building, and yes, it is very dark! There is no obvious light emitting from the sports hall. Although the old building is lit up. When you get to the gravelled area, the road/track does continue and eventually loops round to the sports hall itself. You can park here, but it is really no closer than if you parked on the gravel area and walked through, and is alot darker! The school's own website doesn't have any more information as to its whereabouts, than what you can see here. Although there's some phone numbers if you need to contact them! The map on the right has been painfully spliced together from four pages of the Berkshire A-Z. Click it, for a larger version to print. Click the link below the map for an even larger, more detailed version, if you have broadband or you don't mind waiting. What's it like?
